We now have 3 different types of products:

  • Mobile apps for Apple and Android devices are aimed at business professionals for on the move
  • Business guides are aimed at business professionals
  • Study guides are aimed at students

In the mobile apps category, we launched the Macroeconomics Concept Cards app for Android devices. In order to reach a widest audience possible, we decided to make the app free and to add advertising to help us cover the production costs.

The Macroeconomics Concept Cards app offers a clear and intuitive explanation of the key concepts in Macroeconomics that business professionals should be familiar with.

In the mobile apps category, we also launched the Ask Your CEO app for Android devices. This is also a free app with advertising. The Apple version for iPod and iPhone will follow soon!

The Ask Your CEO app offers more than 100 different business questions which you can ask any CEO, business manager or even yourself. These questions will help you understand any business and will help you identify opportunities for value creation.

In the study guides product category, we launched the Statistics Review Study Guide. This study guide is aimed at first year students in business and economics, and at MBA students, to give you a comprehensive overview of the key topics in Statistics.

The final piece of news is the launch of Business Guides. These are PDF guides for business professionals and make the valuable content from our apps (such as the Macroeconomics Concept Cards app and the Ask Your CEO app) available in PDF format for anybody to download.

Hopefully it will not take long to approve! When I submitted the Finance Study Guide app to iTunes back in February, it took them 4 days to approve the app. Hopefully we can beat that this time, but since there is a weekend involved, it is unlikely.

However, some time ago, I realized my products should really be digital products. So I decided to go digital; no more inventory of study guide, no more displays to create and no more shipping of physical product all over the world!

I have now converted all my study guides to PDF format, which can be downloaded right here on the G and am now developing study guides and concept cards specifically for mobile devices (Apple and Android).

If you are also interested in developing your own apps (especially if you are looking to build apps for the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad), then the following step-by-step guide to creating and selling your own apps is really a valuable resource!

 

How To Make iPhone Apps With No Programming Experience

 

The guide is written by two experienced iPhone app entrepreneurs (Quoc Bui and Michael Moon) who have launched more than 20 apps which together have generated more than 20 million downloads and which generate more than US$800,000 in revenue per year!

Quoc and Michael have launched free apps (they earn money through in-app advertising) as well as paid apps. It seems that their free apps have generated the most income, which was a revelation to me! I always wondered how to make money with free apps! Now I know and I am developing my own free apps (in addition to my paid apps).

Another interesting point is that Michael and Quoc did not build any of their apps themselves. They created the ideas for the apps and outsourced the design and programming to app developers in all corners of the world. Hence the title "How To Make iPhone Apps With No Programming Experience".

Quoc and Michael used Elance to find iPhone app programmers who could build the apps for them. Elance is a great tool to find developers, programmers, marketers, designers and many more skilled freelancers. I also found my iPhone and Android developers through Elance and the experience has been extremely positive! Simply, without Elance, I could not and would not have developed any apps!

If you are interested in converting your own ideas to a real iPhone app, I highly recommend this guide! It will save you a lot of time trying to figure out how to go about building your own apps and you will get quite a few valuable insights from app-entrepreneurs who have been, and still are, very successful app-entrepreneurs!

The new website was designed by Marcel at Chemistry, an incredible design agency based in Singapore. Marcel is also the creative force behind the Good Mark's Study Guides mobile apps.

The new website was built by Inside Media Communication. They never tired of tweaking the website and making the changes I requested.

Over the coming weeks and months, I will use the Good Mark's Study Guides blog to keep you up-to-date on what new products I am working on. One of the apps, which is currently in production, is the Macroeconomics Concept Cards app, which should go live in the next few weeks.
